The very first time that I ever heard of Jalapeño Tacos KC (also known as Jalapeño Brothers) was when my father told my family about a food truck serving Mexican food next to the Shell gas station (now turned into Sunoco) and World Liquors convenience store on Prairie View Road near Interstate 29. Every time me and my family visit Jalapeño Tacos KC, I usually see a tabletop game for table football (also called table soccer or foosball), posters, statuettes, and memorabilia related to Mexican Lucha Libre wrestling. There is even a television screen inside the restaurant of Jalapeño Brothers for the customers to be entertained while watching Lucha Libre wrestling. The staff at Jalapeño Tacos KC (Jalapeño Brothers) are a family with kids, and this means that the Mexican food taqueria is family-owned. The Mexican family from Jalapeño Tacos KC are big fans of the major sports teams based in the Kansas City metropolitan area, and there is also some memorabilia that relates to the major sports teams in Kansas City. There is also a self-service station for customers to pick out any salsas, hot sauces, and toppings to put on their Mexican food platter. The menu at Jalapeño Tacos KC (Jalapeño Brothers) has a wide variety of Mexican dishes that have options for customers to choose from. Mexican dishes served at Jalapeño Brothers include Tacos, Burritos, Quesadillas, Nachos, Tostadas, Taco Salads, Tortas (Mexican sandwiches), and even another Hispanic dish called Popusas. Popusas are Salvadoran or Honduran corn flatbread pockets that are stuffed with one or more ingredients, which may include meat, fish, cheese, vegetables, beans, beans and cheese, and even pork rinds. There is another dish called Huarache, which consists of masa dough corn tortillas with smashed and refried pinto beans, meat, cheese, lettuce, onions, and red or green salsa. Customers who visit Jalapeño Brothers can also get a plate of nachos as French fries with toppings instead of tortilla chips, which can also referred to as “Nachos Fried Papas Locas”. When I visit Jalapeño Tacos KC, I usually get a steak burrito with all three different colors of Mexican hot sauce (salsa) and an order of French fries with my burrito. Other people in my family get street tacos, and my family & I even shared a nacho bowl when we were dining in at Jalapeño Brothers, either once or twice. I have to say that each time me and my family have visited Jalapeño Tacos KC (Jalapeño Brothers), the service is always good, even though that there are the Mexican owners children are helping out because Jalapeño Tacos KC is family-owned. If customers are searching around the Kansas City metropolitan area for a Mexican food taqueria that provides a wide variety of ingredients for many different Mexican dishes, I would recommend that Jalapeño Tacos KC (also known as Jalapeño Brothers) is the restaurant to visit. Besides the delicious variety of food and unique service style from a Mexican family that has their young children helping them out at Jalapeño Brothers, the restaurant also offers a tabletop game of table football (also called foosball) and a television for customers to watch Mexican Lucha Libre wrestling. In the near future, Jalapeño Tacos KC (Jalapeño Brothers) is planning to open its own Mexican-style Paleteria (an ice cream shop that is known for serving paletas, or Mexican Popsicles). The Paleteria will be named “Jalapeños Ice Cream Shop”, but the Jalapeño Tacos KC part will still remain. I would also recommend that customers stay tuned whenever Jalapeños Ice Cream Shop is going to be opening its doors soon.

Great flavor and it was definitely a locals hot spot. It was very busy for lunch. They are quick and helpful so the wait didn't seem bad. They have a big screen tv for sports and a foosball table. My tacos were loaded with meat, so seemed like a good value for lunch. There's a salsa bar where you can add your own sauce to your orders. I thought the hottest sauce had the best flavor. The green one and the red one were kinda meh for me. This place is worth a try for sure.

I like big burritos and cannot lie. Make sure to bring a big appetite, cause these burritos are huge. And delicious. I got the pork belly burrito, and my buddy got some tacos and a tamale. Everything was great. Will definitely eat there again.

Overall, not bad. Typical Mexican food on the menu. Tostadas, tacos and taco bowl served hot and tasted ok. Plenty of ingredients and portion sizes were adequate for a full belly.

Best Mexican food in the Northland. Absolutely love this place! The inside is a little strange, but the food is an 11/10. The Torta, tacos, and quesabirria are all amazing. It's a smaller business, so love to support that. Overall, highly recommend taking a stop in and trying out the food! Pictured is a torta, tacos, and quessabirria.

Ok so this place is DISGUSTING.The salsas are so watered down. The beans are clearly from a can or package. The rice tasted like it’s a week old. My husbands torta was bland and so small. I had a pupusa, tasted like play doh. There’s obviously better places to get pupusas. I would love to hear what the owner has to say about this “tourism and convention” tax. Never in my 33 years have I seen a food establishment in this part of the country add a tourism tax. It’s over priced white washed Mexican food. They are milking people for more money with the HORRIBLE food and service. If anyone thinks this is good Mexican food, they clearly have not been to literally any other taqueria.

Great street tacos! I ordered 3 and could only eat 2! I would have done 5 stars except the ordering process isn’t the best ( you order at the window and then they bring it to you). It wasn’t clear about the condiments either.

As someone who was born in and lived in Mexico for 25 years eating tacos every other day, I will give you my honest opinion about these tacos. So, to start, the portion they give you is really good. The refried beans today were a little salty but the rice was really good. Traditional Mexican rice. I ordered 3 tacos with different meat each to try: 1- steak: really good meat. I give this taco a 10/10 2- pastor: it’s really hard to find a good pastor taco in the USA so, considering that, I’ll give this taco a 7/10. It doesn’t taste like a pastor taco at all, meat is good but EXTREMELY GREASY. (I’m attaching pictures) although my Mexican belly can tolerate tons of grease, I truly don’t recommend eating a taco so oily, specially if you are getting your tacos to go. It will make you sick when the grease is cold. Please listen to my advice on that. 3- carnitas (fried pork): I like it, I got really good meat, greasy (but carnitas are expected to be like that) so I give this taco a 9/10 Tortillas: perfect size, perfect oil on them like a good taquero would do back in Mexico 🇲🇽 Salsas: red and green (guacamole style I’m assuming). They both are great, love them both!!! Horchata water: I liked it, it tastes authentic, a little pricey in my opinion. 5 dollars for a litter can be out of budget for families. I wish they had smaller cup sizes. In general, I recommend this place a lot! Just be careful with the grease. I put a paper towel to absorb it from my taco… I will come back at least once a week but I will definitely avoid the pastor tacos!
